Nutritional Healing for Lake Mary Florida Patients

Nutritional Healing at Central Florida Preventative Medicine with Dr Kathy VeonNutritional Healing for Lake Mary Florida Patients – The body naturally heals itself when it is given the appropriate environment. Using nutrition and food as a healing therapy can create the foundation of a healthy body by providing the building blocks necessary at the cellular level for repairing and maintaining organs, glands, bones, nerves and soft tissue.  Foods can often be used to detoxify and nourish the body, allowing it to heal.  Food and Nutritional Healing can also encompass herbs and other nutrients that are sourced from once-living plants, roots, leaves, seeds, fruits, and vegetables.  These nutrients can be used at therapeutic doses for a short amount of time to detoxify and nourish the body’s organs, glands, bone and soft tissues, which allows them to fully heal and work efficiently on their own.  Sometimes the foods or herbs are no longer needed, and sometimes they can be continued at a very low dose as a means of continually nourishing the body to keep it healthy and strong.

Food and InflammationNutritional Healing for Lake Mary Florida Patients

The foods we consume affect our physical bodies as well as our minds. In fact, without a healthy and nutrient dense diet, many chronic illnesses will persist, despite numerous holistic or allopathic medical interventions.

The term ‘leaky gut’ has become common and describes a condition where the gut lining has been compromised from foods, stress or medications that damage the tight junctions of the epithelial lining. However, many do not know that once there is a ‘leaky gut’ condition present, this opens the door for more serious issues such as damage to the epithelial lining of the arteries, heart, and damage to the blood brain barrier a.k.a ‘leaky brain’. Damage to the various epithelial linings can lead to increased risk of stroke, atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmia, memory and brain fog issues, and many psychiatric disorders including depression and anxiety.

Leaky gut can be diagnosed with a serum Zonulin Test as an indicator of the epithelial lining health. Further blood tests can detect elevated serum antibodies for common food sensitivities such as wheat, dairy and corn. When a person ingests food for which they have elevated antibodies, the immune system can begin to attack various organs and glands, causing inflammation and damage, which can lead to chronic physical and mental illness. There have been many cases of people with high serum wheat and dairy antibodies who have been diagnosed with bi-polar or schizophrenia disorders, and when they stopped eating those foods, their symptoms completely subsided!! Now that is the power our food has to keep us healthy or to make us sick!! It truly is a choice we can make for ourselves!!

In addition, elevated serum Zonulin can lead to autoimmune disorders, type I diabetes, asthma, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, multiple sclerosis and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

A Food Inflammation Test (FIT) can test up to 176 foods and additives that may be causing inflammation in the body, leading to anxiety / depression, joint pain, headaches / migraines, fatigue, eczema / psoriasis, inability to lose weight, sugar cravings and digestive distress / IBS. Symptoms caused by antibody (IgG) food related reactions generally occur several days after the the food is ingested which makes the offending food difficult to identify without proper testing.

A simple finger prick can collect blood spot samples for both the FIT and Zonulin Tests, and results can provide important insight into which foods should be avoided or desensitized by using NAET allergy elimination technique. The outcome can provide a person with a strong immune system, clear mind, healthy mood, pain free body, and just overall more vibrant health!

Generally, a healthy diet consisting of lots of organic vegetables and healthy fats, moderate protein intake, and reducing or eliminating processed foods, dairy, grains and sugars will support a healthy and happy body and mind.
