What Are The Foundations for Excellent Health?
What Are The Foundations for Excellent Health? by Doctor Kathy Veon – Foundations for healthy living include nutrient-dense foods grown without chemicals and pesticides, daily exercise, clean water, plenty of rest, and nourishing the soul with healthy relationships and spiritual practices.
Our modern ways of living often deemphasize the importance of creating a strong foundation for health and wellness through our daily lifestyle choices and practices. Modern ‘quick-fix medicine’ promises an easy way to deal with pain and other symptoms that our bodies give us to inform us that something is out of balance.
By taking this poor advice, our health suffers on all levels in the long run. All aspects of health: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual, depend on creating and maintaining a strong foundation on which to build health.
As the Roman poet, Virgil, once wisely said “The greatest wealth is health”. Read on to learn more about implementing the foundations of health in our modern world.
What Are The Foundations for Excellent Health? Food Therapy and Lifestyle Wisdom
Diet and Lifestyle
Food provides the fuel and building blocks for our daily metabolic activities and recovery. Nutrient-dense, high-quality food that is grown without toxic chemicals, pesticides, preservatives, and chemicals is ideal.
Fad diets may be useful for a short season of life, however, they will not maintain good health. Traditional diets have proven the test of time to support healthy DNA expression and long life.
The work of both Dr. Weston A. Price and Dr. Francis M. Pottenger has provided wisdom to make healthy dietary and lifestyle choices. I encourage you to learn more about this wisdom at the Price-Pottenger Foundation and The Weston A. Price Foundation. You can subscribe or become a member of these organizations to have this valuable information available to you at any time.
Water
Our bodies are made of approximately 60% to 75% water. Without water, we can only survive a few days….no more than a week at most. The earth naturally purifies and structures water, whereas our modern pipes, filtration systems, and toxic additives such as fluoride and chlorine make our water far from healthy and life-promoting.
Structured water offers much of what our modern practices have taken away. To learn more about the science of structured water, the fourth phase of water, and ways to structure your water for better health, please visit this Structured Water site. Aqua Energizers are also available for any home, work, or personal need.
Exercise – What Are The Foundations for Excellent Health? A Blog Article by Doctor Kathy Veon
Our bodies were not created to sit for long hours in front of computer screens, televisions and other modern technologies. Our bodies were meant to move in order to stimulate autophagy (cell cleansing), lymphatic flow, and the production of endorphins and neurotransmitters.
Daily exercise is important for our health. Spending time outdoors whenever possible is even better. Being in nature is good for ‘grounding’, which restores us to our natural earth surroundings and reduces inflammation. Grounding practices are essential for good health in our modern world. For more information, please consider reading the book Earthing: The Most Important Health Discovery Ever!
Sleep
Our bodies, minds and spirits recover during our restful sleep times. Autophagy is active, and melatonin is released during this essential time of rest. Practice good sleep hygiene by sleeping in a dark, cool room that is free from wireless technology or other Electro-Magnetic Frequencies (EMF’s).
Light and EMF’s impair the body’s ability to release melatonin and achieve restorative sleep. Everyone is sensitive and affected by EMF exposures, even if a person is not aware of the symptoms. Every cell feels and responds to the stress that these chaotic frequencies create.
For more tips on creating a restful sleep environment in our modern culture please read: Sweet Dreams: Sleep Hygiene by Blue Ridge EMF Solutions.
Environment
Our modern environment is filled with more toxic exposures than ever. Chemicals, pesticides, mold, heavy metals, light pollution, and radiofrequencies are just a few. Switching to non-toxic and environmentally friendly soaps and cleaners, pest control, and opting out of plastics is very helpful for ourselves and our planet.
Hundreds of Toxic Chemicals are now found in newborn umbilical cord blood. Practicing safe technology by opting for wired connections instead of wireless is also essential. The massive proliferation of EMFs is causing a dire public health crisis and is affecting patient health outcomes.
For more information, please read a recent published article in Acupuncture Today. EMF Exposures: Adverse Effects on Patient Health and Outcomes. There you will also find links and resources to lower your exposures.
Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Health
Even with all the nutrient-dense food, structured water, and healthy environment, we will not be truly healthy if our thoughts, attitudes and behaviors are unhealthy. Mental health has severely declined in the last several years, and people are suffering from addictions and other unhealthy coping mechanisms at an alarming rate.
Creating a daily spiritual practice, meditation and prayer will support our overall health. Healing past trauma and unhealthy subconscious beliefs can effectively set people free from destructive behaviors and coping mechanisms. EVOX Perception Reframing is an excellent therapy to heal the subconscious mind.
Creating a strong foundation for our health will allow all other therapies such as acupuncture, chiropractic, massage, herbal and nutritional supplement intake to work much faster and more completely.
