How EMFs Affect Our Health and Environment

How EMFs Affect Our Health and Environment?

“You cannot heal in the same environment that made you sick”

HOW EMFS AFFECT OUR HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTOur environment plays a very important role in our overall health. In fact, genetic factors alone actually play a very small role in our long-term health. It is our environment and lifestyle choices that have the greatest impact, either positively or negatively. A toxic environment and poor lifestyle choices will trigger the expression of mutated genes, often leading to disease.

HOW EMFS AFFECT OUR HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTWe can understand the importance of clean drinking water, food without chemicals or pesticides, cleaning products without harsh chemicals that cause endocrine disruptions, but what about the environmental toxins that are not widely spoken of?

Over the last 20 – 30 years, man-made EMFs have increased tremendously. Although most people cannot see, hear or feel EMFs, they are quite dangerous to our health and are one of the most overlooked environmental toxins today.

EMFs in the form of wireless technology, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cell phones, cell towers, personal watches, and devices operate by using radiofrequency radiation (RF-EMF) to transmit the wireless signals. These wireless frequencies have been studied for decades by governments, military, and scientific researchers. The overwhelming consensus is that the long-term and/or high-level exposures to these frequencies lead to severe oxidative stress and can cause mitochondrial and DNA damage.

Some of the known effects of EMFs according to the published research include:
  • Anxiety, Depression, Irritability
  • Memory Impairment
  • Immune System Impairment
  • Insomnia / Sleep Pattern Disturbances
  • Tinnitus (ear ringing)
  • Dizziness / Nausea
  • Hormone Imbalances / Infertility
  • Headaches / Migraines
  • Chronic Pain
  • Cardiovascular Disease / Stroke
  • Rapid / Irregular Heart Rate
  • Diabetes
  • Autism / ADHD
  • Fatigue
  • Allergies and Asthma
  • Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS)
  • Skin Issues / Rashes
  • Neurological Disorders
  • Frequent Nightly Urination
  • Bedwetting (children)
  • Systemic Inflammation
  • Cancer
Long-term EMF exposures cause cellular damage by altering cell signaling through voltage-gated ion channels. These channels affect every system in the body including endocrine function and hormone production, nerve impulses, gene expression, and cardiovascular function.

HOW EMFS AFFECT OUR HEALTH Voltage-Gated Calcium Channels (VGCC’s) which are altered due to EMF exposure can affect neurotransmitters such as glutamate, GABA and acetylcholine, and can cause neuropsychiatric effects such as anxiety and depression.

Studies have also shown that an abnormal influx of calcium into mast cells can prompt or exacerbate allergic reactions. Learn more about how EMF exposures may be a risk factor for experiencing COVID

EMF exposure also causes an increased production of peroxynitrites in the body. Peroxynitrites are very powerful oxidative substances that not only cause the depletion of antioxidants such as glutathione but also lead to blood-brain barrier damage and many inflammatory conditions to every organ and gland system in the body.

Solutions – How Do EMFs Affect Your Health?

One of the best ways to avoid damage from EMFs is to reduce exposure. 10 Steps to Safe Technology will provide more information about lifestyle changes that will help you reduce exposure.

HOW EMFS AFFECT OUR HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTIncreasing antioxidant intake can also help. Studies showed that Omega 3’s and Melatonin supplementation helped reduce the damage to brain structures caused by EMF exposure. Glutathione supplementation reduces oxidative damage caused by EMFs.

Nutrients and food therapies that increase antioxidants include:
  • Vitamins A, C, E
  • Selenium
  • Iodine
  • Zinc
  • CoQ10
  • Vitamin D3+K2
  • B Vitamins
  • Chlorophyll
  • Magnesium
  • Flavonoids from green or black tea
  • Indoles from cruciferous vegetables
  • Sulfur compounds from garlic

Reducing stress, practicing good sleep hygiene, spending time in nature, and consuming nutrient-dense, unprocessed foods that support immune function, detoxification, and cellular metabolism can possibly delay the effects of chronic overexposure to EMFs.

Public awareness is crucial. A recent historic and victorious lawsuit against the FCC may bring the awareness and change that is needed. Additionally, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is currently scheduled to review the recent research and may reclassify RF-EMF as a Class 1 Carcinogen (known and probable human carcinogen).
