Herbal and Nutritional Therapies
Optimize Detoxification
According to Eastern Medicine Theory, spring is the time of the liver and is an excellent time to engage in the cleansing and renewal of our detoxification organs. Healthy detoxification supports cellular cleansing and renewal and can aid in reducing pain, anxiety, depression, sleep issues, and many more chronic issues so common in our modern society. There are many natural therapies to support the liver and increase the production of glutathione.
Optimal glutathione production helps to protect the body from oxidative stress and has been shown in studies to be able to neurodegenerative disorders and reduce cancer risks by protecting healthy cell structures and inhibiting cancer cells from growing.
Increased exposure to toxins of all kinds has increased the need for glutathione in our diet and through supplementation. Reducing toxic exposures is necessary to preserve healthy glutathione levels.
Carnitine
Carnitine is a powerful promoter of optimal mitochondrial function and cellular detoxification, protects cell membranes from damage, and improves metabolic flexibility. It can also help improve fatty liver disease, insulin resistance, and related disorders such as diabetes, endocrine disorders, and PCOS.
Carnitine can protect against neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and dementia, by reducing amyloid-related mitochondrial dysfunction and by increasing glutathione levels to protect against reactive oxygen species (ROS) that cause cellular and DNA damage.
Ribose
Ribose is another power nutrient that supports healthy mitochondrial function and cellular renewal. Studies indicate that Ribose helps to replenish ATP in cells, thereby promoting recovery through intracellular energy transfer. Pathologies such as congestive heart failure, chronic fatigue syndrome, and fibromyalgia, as well as pain, stiffness, and muscle cramping after exercise are improved with D-Ribose supplementation.
LemonAid is an easy-to-use and delicious combination of Ribose and Carnitine. You can learn more and purchase the product here: Fat to Energy.
Nicotinamide
Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) is a form of vitamin B3 shown in studies to be essential for slowing the cellular aging process. NMN is a precursor for NAD, critical for mitochondrial function and healthy stem cell creation.
Studies have shown benefits of supplementing with NMN and NAD including slowing or reversing conditions such as insulin resistance, diabetes, Alzheimer’s and ischemia. NAD Gold by Quicksilver Scientific is an easy way to increase NAD and slow the cellular aging process.
Dandelion
Dandelion is traditionally used to detox the liver and gallbladder. Additional uses for dandelion include antioxidant support, metabolic and cardiovascular support, and lowered inflammation. It is also an essential herb to consume daily to protect the cells from damage by the increased proliferation of RF-EMFs.
Burbur-Pinella
The combination herbal extract known as Burbur-Pinella is an excellent way to cleanse the entire lymphatic system, including the brain lymph system known as the ‘Glymphatic System‘. This is a wonderful tincture to take to help with brain fog caused by neurological toxicity and also ‘herxheimer reactions’ often associated with detoxification protocols.
Cleansing the Mind
Emotional trauma can inhibit physical healing if not acknowledged and addressed in a healthy way. Therapies such as EVOX Perception Reframing and NAET are excellent ways to heal the mind, body, spirit, as well as ‘energy centers’ and ‘energy pathways’ in the body. Hyssop is a wonderful herb to help the body, mind and spirit heal from many toxic exposures, including emotional trauma. EZOV and additional herbs for lymphatic and glymphatic cleaning and support can be found here at Fullscript here: EZOV for Emotional Healing.
Laboratory Testing
Nutrigenomic laboratory testing for telomere length, as well as detoxification, neurological and hormone metabolism can provide valuable information regarding how to use nutrition, diet and lifestyle to slow the aging process and avoid many types of chronic illnesses. Contact the office to order any of these valuable specialty labs.
Many more healing resources are available on the Patient Resources page. Consuming nutrient dense foods, healthy lifestyle habits including daily exercise, sunlight, restful and restorative sleep, healthy thought patterns, relationships, and environments are necessary to achieve true healing.
