Does insurance cover treatment? | Your Questions Get Answered by Dr. Kathy Veon
Functional Medicine, Clinical Nutrition, EVOX Biofeedback Therapy, Acupuncture, Pelotherapy, and advanced forms of diagnostics and holistic healthcare therapies are not typically covered by insurance. Insurance companies do not consider the in-depth testing procedures or the time required to properly find the true ‘root cause’ of disease because allopathic medicine and insurance companies are more commonly interested in finding which drug, medication or surgery will quiet and ‘mask’ the symptoms instead of correcting and healing the underlying disharmonies that lead to the illness in the first place.
Disease manifests for many complex reasons, including lifestyle, diet, exercise, environment, genetic predisposition, mental and emotional traumas, physical traumas, negative thought patterns and attitudes, infections, chemical exposures, allergies and sensitivities and many other factors. A holistic approach to healing requires extra time, often in a face-to-face setting, to determine the unique reasons for illness, and then preparing the most appropriate treatment plan for each individual.
My goal, as your healthcare practitioner, is to help you heal on all levels so that you can go out and live your best life possible. My goal is to teach you how to live well and avoid illness in the future, to give you all the tools necessary to achieve and maintain excellent health….spirit, mind/emotions and body. Insurance companies do not recognize the value of preventive medicine, holistic healing, and the teaching and wisdom that is the foundation for achieving and maintaining true health, which is far more than just the absence of illness.
However, your insurance company may pay a very small portion of holistic healthcare costs. Because your insurance policy is a contract solely between you and your insurance company, it is important that you contact them directly to determine if you have coverage for these treatments. Please understand that you, the patient, are fully responsible for the fees associated with your treatments, even if your insurance company had previously agreed to pay for the treatments, either partially or in full.
Upon request, forms will be provided for you to send to your insurance company so that you will be reimbursed directly by your insurance company according to the agreement you have made with them as their customer. Please note, if you do not have ‘out of network benefits’ you will NOT be reimbursed by your insurance company. Claims are not filed on your behalf.
All services must be paid in full at the time of service. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX, Flexible Spending or Health Savings Credit Cards, Checks and Cash.

What can Dr. Kathy Veon tell me about herself? | FAQ
I am dedicated to your health and wellness, and am here to help and guide you with a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. A wide variety of health issues can be treated and reversed by implementing nutrition, detox therapies, lifestyle counseling, and many other natural and safe treatment modalities. Each person is a whole and complex being, and I give special consideration to acknowledging every aspect of existence ~ physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
I work with patients for a relatively short period of time (2 to 8 months depending on the severity and complexity of the health issue) and guide them through a treatment plan that ultimately reverses illness. Testing is done monthly to monitor the healing process and to determine the next steps necessary to achieve complete wellness. Once a person has returned to health, they are given guidance to maintain wellness and prevent future illness. Proper food choices, nutrients, stress relieving practices, lifestyle modifications are advised. Healthy mental, emotional and spiritual practices are also encouraged.
The body and mind can heal themselves when they are given the appropriate environment and tools to support complete healing.
